Welcome, everyone! This is your first round of the IWE Talent Show, and it is my honor to announce this one last time. Somewhat of a disappointing turnout for my last show - today the only performer is the great Wizard Terraria. Everyone give it up for him!

The Wizard summons a fireball in the palm of his hand! 🔥
Then one in his other hand! 🔥
He begins to toss them back and forth...
And then he adds a third one! 🔥
The Wizard is now juggling three fireballs!
As he juggles, he begins to speak.
He's talking about the items he has for sale?

The Wizard repeats his sales pitch as the rotating fireballs intensify!
He continues to go on, and the fireballs circle around... the effect becomes hypnotic!
...For himself.
"Everything a real Wizard would need..." he mutters one last time as his eyelids droop
Then the fireballs puff out!
The Wizard falls to the stage, snoring!
...Well, that was something, at least.

If I have my time calculations right.... This should be the second round of the talent show!
And performing this time are Wizard Terraria, and Melia Antiqua!
But wait - we have a special guest!
Helping Melia is Yu Narukami!
I hope everyone enjoys the show.
Avatar
King Harkinian 20-Jun-21 09:10 PM
Melia steps up to the stage first.
She raises her hands, and draws on the power of the rust-coloured orb circling around her.
She seems slightly more rooted to the ground, perhaps, as the orb fizzles out of existence.
Meanwhile, Yu Narukami summons the power of his Persona!
He calls out, "Zio!", and the spectral form of Izanagi appears above the young man!
A small bolt of lightning shoots out from the hands of Yu and his Persona, and strikes Melia...
But it has no effect!
Melia blocked the attack.
Izanagi fades away as Melia and Yu step down from the stage.
Next up is the merchant Wizard!
He skips the introductory speech this time, and his normally rheumy eyes seem sharp and focused right now.
He brings his hands together and forms a great fireball in them!
Twice as large as the ones he summoned last time, the fireball shoots up into the air above the Wizard, and hangs there.
Then, he takes out a spell tome from his robes, and opens it.
Its pages flip past wildly as he recites the incantation within, his voice ringing with power!
With this, the Wizard brings forth a storm of brilliant crystals from the book!
They explode into the sky and swirl around the fireball.
The light reflects off of them as they coalesce into a pattern, forming... the effect of a Disco Ball!
The prismatic crystals reflect the full spectrum of light everywhere in a groovy spray of colours.
There's no music, but you can almost feel a funky beat echoing in the air as the Wizard begins to dance.
The wizard completes his funky dance underneath the makeshift disco ball, and the fireball and crystals fade away.
He descends back down from the stage, looking satisfied.
Nice!

Undyne 20-Jun-21 09:22 PM
...hm.
I will say, this was a much better showing than last time.
The combat performance was a bit cheesy, but...
Both performers had admirable traits. Summoning is not an ability seen on this side of the Aryth Ocean.
The salesman also satisfied with the tome usage. Not bad.

Yu Narukami walks on the stage.
He's holding a shortsword, but doesn't seem to intend to use it.
Battler Ushiromiya and Beatrice walk on the stage after him.
Battler positions himself behind Yu, he's holding a fancy-hilted sword in both hands.
Beatrice walks a bit further from the two, and turns her back to them.
Battler lifts the sword, and readies for a hearty swing at Yu's back...
He swings!
Beatrice mumbles something to herself as the sword reflects the sunlight mid-swing...
The sword catches a ray of sunlight, and just for a moment, the sword's dented and worn exterior seems to vanish, and it glints brilliantly in the light...
Battler completely and utterly fumbles and misses his swing, and he trips and falls!

He ascends toward the metal framing holding the stage lights above, at an accelerating pace.
For a moment, the lights blind you as you follow his progress up, but when you can next see him, he's shot up past the metal girders!
He hangs for a moment in the sky... then he begins to fall back down!
But instead of hitting the ground, he somehow pulls himself up into a swing centred around the metal framing!
He swings in a graceful loop around the frame, then eases himself back down to where he stood before.
He bows, then strolls off.
Next up is... Ellen!
The young girl wanders to centre stage, seemingly waiting for someone else to arrive.
...But no one shows up!
Ellen trudges offstage, disappointed.

And for our final performance of this round, we have the one, the only... THE LICH!
swet 4
The Lich stands with a large book open, the words of an incantation hanging between their skeletal teeth, just waiting to be spoken.
nervous 3
All they need is a magic circle, which they gave instructions for Daffy Duck to create.
But... Daffy is nowhere to be seen!
Oh wait, there he is. He's lounging in the audience, offering a wizard business card to the Lich.
The Lich does not take it.
They head offstage.
Daffy also offers a card to Ellen in consolation, which she accepts.

Welcome to the fourth round of the magical talent show!
We've got a great lineup of wizards ready to perform this time.
First up we'll have Tarhiel, with the aid of a magic broom! He'll be followed by the Masked Man, then the one and only Daffy Duck! And for a special repeat performance, hopefully better than last time, we'll have the Lich rounding out the group!
Oh, right! The Wizard is also going to come on stage.

King Harkinian 24-Jun-21 07:09 PM
But first, Tarhiel!
The robe enchanter steps forth, brandishing his broomstick.
He hops on it...
And it levitates into the air!

He leans forward on the broom, and it takes off, zipping into the sky.
He flies around the stage for a bit, bobbing up and down as he goes. (edited)
Then he veers upwards...
Is he trying to do a somersault? (edited)
Wait, watch out -
Phew! He veered out of it at the last second, that could've gone poorly.
He plays it safer after that, doing some drifting around sharp turns.
Finally, he returns to the ground and bows.

Next, the Masked Man steps to the middle of the stage.
He takes out a bag of iron filings from his pockets.
In your head, you think you faintly hear a voice saying:
(PK Magnet!)
Then the Masked Man throws the filings up into the air -
And they form themselves into a pattern!
The filings clump into nine - wait, eight - smaller spherish blobs and one larger one, and the smallish ones arrange themselves around one larger one. (edited)
You think it might be intended to represent the solar system?
Silent as ever, the Masked Man collects the filings back into his bag and walks off.
After that, the Wizard comes to the stage.
He holds up one of his spell tomes, offering it to... us?

Daffy pulls a business card from behind his ear, and presents it to the crowd.
Is that the same card, reborn...?
He gives elaborate bows to the audience.
He then catches on fire in a blast himself.

The planet exhibition was subtle, but we Aes Sedai appreciate the fine arts.
The flying was competent enough. I'm surprised you got one of those brooms working.

Tarhiel's performance was quite nice, though it was unfortunate he couldn't pull off the flashier moves he tried.
The Masked Man's performance was not bad either, though for some reason it felt underwhelming. Perhaps because where I come from, we don't even have a solar system.
The Wizard's 'performance' seemed... somewhat uncalled for. I much preferred his earlier presentation!
I enjoyed Daffy's little act, I must say. I didn't realize the duck had it in him!
Then the Lich... well, that was certainly an impressive display of magic, all else aside. But it won't be a good look if people start dying at our expo!

He boasts with a potion of some kind, and takes a hearty gulp, downing the bottle!
He squats...
And jumps high!
He grabs the stage scaffolding and swings!
His leap is cut short, though, as his ankle catches onto the bar and he abruptly does a spin in the opposite direction, accelerating downwards instead.
He does a parkour roll while he lands, and tries to show off a fancy pose, but the hiccup of the performance hinders its effect somewhat.

Ciel drags a reluctant Malfoy on the stage.
He seems somewhat unstable.
Malfoy starts being aggressive, unlike his unusual collected self.
Reacting to this, Ciel throws a vial of holy water on Malfoy!
Malfoy seems to become more lucid...
Ciel takes out a longsword and another vial of holy water, and brandishes the blade in the sunlight.

Holy power seems to emanate from the ritual as she performs it.
The blade begins to glow with white-gold light.
The vial of holy water rolls aside, emptied.
Ciel picks up the blade and holds it aloft - it gleams for all to see, now purified and imbued with conceptual power.
What concept, you wonder?
The rejection of reincarnation.
Ciel throws off her school uniform - revealing an outfit prepared for battle!

The swing is a perfect arc, the certainty of its enchantment and of its user combining to make it the perfect deadly force...
It's headed right for Malfoy's chest, and nothing short of the perfect block could get in its way...
A block like the one Malfoy makes!
cocainer 5
...But!
It's not enough to keep the blow from making contact!
byemom 3
The blow carves a hole in Malfoy's torso, but his block was just enough to prevent the fatal strike it otherwise would have been!

[Before the performance, Himiko stuck a coin on the bottom of the table. She slipped the coin into her sleeve right before rolling her hand into a fist, and the clinking sound was just the coin already stuck on the bottom of the table. Then she just reached under the table and pulled the coin off.]
And the second one was Daffy's performance. The one with the card bursting into flames. I guess this one is more far-fetched but...
[The business card had something that would explode when lit on fire on it, and Daffy secretly lit it on fire right before tossing it up in the air. It took a moment for the fire to spread, which is how you couldn't really see the fire before the card got blasted. Then he just pulled another card out, it obviously wasn't the same one.]
(edited)
The rest of the performances that weren't complete fumbles looked fine enough to me, so that's all I've got!

Yu Narukami runs up to the stage!
Was he invited?

He has some trouble climbing up, but Merlin lends him a hand nonetheless.
Yu runs to the center of the stage, and...
Gets it on!
There's absolutely nothing magical about this dance, but it's full of heart and soul.

But what's this?
Ciel and Roa have found their way onto the stage!

Ciel paces some distance from her enemy, seeming to be taking the same defensive maneuver as last time.
Her holy sword remains garnished in holy water and garlic.
Roa looks unimpressed at her lack of aggression.
Which immediately changes when she turns on a dime, and charges at him full tilt!
Roa is taken by surprise, but just as she's about to reach him, he manages to raise his own blade, fixing her with his iconic Sigma Stare -

Will Ciel's blade plunge through Ellen and let Roa live?
Due to being weakened by Ciel's blade during the last Talent Show, Roa's soul staggered during the switch and didn't follow Malfoy's body in time!

Now, we will have to consider the performances of the previous talent show as well.
Tarhiel's first flying show was certainly more impressive than this last one. At least he got some tricks in before.
Mickey's fireballs were quaint. I liked them. I like fireballs.

Himiko performed a satisfactory magic trick, although even by my standards Battler was very rude to try to disprove her on stage

So much violence... such devastation!
I must say i preferred the more graceful shows.
Yu's dancing was lovely, and Himiko's cards were impressive in their elegance!
Mickey's fireballs and Tarhiel's flight were less well executed, yet they still brought a smile to my face.
Battler's guesses would have been astounding - if they were right, that is.

As for the shenanigans with that magic sword... Well, I'm just glad the more ill-mannered of the expo guests have been dealt with.

Ook ook! [I must say I was not impressed by Tarhiel's showing this time. I've seen books fly better than that! Himiko's trick was... interesting. Flinging those cards reminds me of when I fling... well, never mind. I was reasonably impressed with the Mouse's fireballs! A solid show of magic, if not the most original. I appreciated the vigor Mr. Narukami brought to the stage, but I assure you, I could do better than that. As for Battler, those were some valiant guesses... and that's the best I can say. The battle between holy warrior and vampire adversary - across multiple shows, even! - was quite astounding! I was glad I was here to witness it in person this time, though the theatrics in the previous show were arguably even more exciting. And I'll throw an honourable mention to Ellen as well. The swap she performed was not only magically fascinating, but a noble deed and sacrifice. And Claus... I am glad to say his own endeavour seems to have paid off, and he will escape with his life. All in all, what an exciting show this has been, and a great Expo!]
